Jonas looks pretty serious in this picture. This picture was taken Tuesday afternoon with my cell phone. I think it is crazy that the cell phones are so advanced here (we can watch TV on them), yet it has taken 4+ weeks to set up internet service in our home. The supposed date for internet is Monday -- and that is if everything goes well. Including we must be home to receive the modem.
Jonas has adjusted to the time difference well. Within a half week, he was pretty much on the right schedule. The first few days he did wake up in the middle of the night and play for an hour or two. Our flightS went well. Jonas got many compliments from the passengers and flight attendants. They said he is a great baby. I was relieved that he never had any melt downs on the plane and it actually was not that difficult flying with Jonas to Japan. Our only complication was a delay from Kansas City to Chicago. So our international flight to Tokyo left without us and we stayed the night in Chicago. On the positive side, we got to see some friends in Chicago and our luggage arrived in Tokyo a few days late. So...we did not have to deal with transporting it from Tokyo to Akita. It was delivered to our doorstep for free. That was nice. But the day was pretty miserable since we started out in KC at 8 AM and by 3 PM had barely landed in Chicago and had to deal with some sour United agents. Well, Jonas did not seem too bothered by it all, but I was a bit sour too by 3 PM. I have to say, avoid flying United if you can. Throughout the whole ordeal, most of the customer service was awful. A couple of people were helpful, but for the most part, they were difficult to work with.

Jonas is having fun playing with the other kids here. There is a great play area in the shopping mall/convention center (our email center!) that Jonas loves. For some reason Jonas has decided to hug other kids when he is playing with them. Some of the kids don't mind, but others are bit freaked out by it. I guess he is friendly and likes hugs. When he hugs me he pats my back, which I think is sweet.
